Important Analysis A Rose for Emily Throughout life individuals face numerous hardships, including life and death, letting go is such a difficult thing for these individuals to do. In the story, A Rose for Emily, Faulkner writes about love and the effect it can have on an individual. Faulkner discusses how Miss Emily loses her father and he is the only individual she has in her life. Later in the story, Homer Barron pertained to their town to repair the streets. People start seeing Miss Emily and Homer together and believe that they are going to get wed.

The time comes for Homer to leave and it was believed that Miss Emily will kill herself if she loses another person she likes. Homer disappears and Emily never exits your house, all everybody sees is the Negro entering and leaving your house. Throughout the years everybody wonders what took place to Miss Emily and Homer; in the end when Miss Emily dies they find Homers body in the upstairs space of her home. This story shows that when an individual genuinely likes someone they will go to extreme procedures to do what they have to do to keep that individual in their life.

Miss Emily discovers herself to be extremely alone after the death of her daddy and wants to do what she has to do to keep someone she loves in her life. In the beginning of the story Faulkner writes that after Miss Emily loses the 2 sweeties of her life she is seen really rarely. This revealing that Miss Emily was lost due to the fact that her 2 likes were gone. After her fathers death the females and minister call your house to send their condolences and Miss Emily refuses to think that her father has past away. She kept declaring that “? her father was not dead (104 ). 3 days after Miss Emily’s dad passes on she lastly broke down and let them dispose of the body. Miss Emily didn’t wish to accept the reality that her daddy had previous on since she was so close to him and he was all she had. Because Emily genuinely liked Homer, and didn’t wish to lose him like she did her daddy she went to the severe measure of getting arsenic and poisoning him so he couldn’t leave. Homer Barron pertains to Miss Emily’s town to repair the streets, and as the story goes on Miss Emily and Homer begin being seen around town together.

As the time for Homer to leave nears, individuals begin to discuss how they believe Miss Emily is going to kill herself if she loses another individual she likes. Miss Emily goes to the drug store and informs the druggist she wants to purchase some arsenic. The druggist asks Miss Emily why and receives no reaction besides she just wishes to purchase some arsenic. The druggist informs Miss Emily he can’t unless it is for the rats, however he knows that it isn’t and figures it will be for the very best. When the time for Homer to leave came near Homer vanishes and Miss Emily is no longer seen entering or leaving the house, all individuals see is the negro.

Believing that Miss Emily killed herself the towns people go on in their daily life, however the entire time it was Homer that Miss Emily had actually eliminated with the toxin so he couldn’t leave her. Although poisoning Homer wasn’t the wisest decision for Miss Emily, this reveals that she does like him. This shows this because she is doing whatever she can to keep Homer with her permanently. In the end of the story, when Miss Emily passes away, the people find Homers deceased body in what was presumed to be the deserted upstairs of your house.

Next to Homers body, there is an indention in the pillow and a silver hair. This reveals Miss Emily’s love for Homer because she was still sleeping next to Homer’s decaying body. Often when a person loses someone they like they don’t want to release. It is so tough for some people to accept the fact that their liked one is gone. They have a tough time releasing and accepting the way things are going to be. In this story there are lots of ideas that fit to show us that Miss Emily did truly love Homer.

She poisoned him since she was afraid he was going to leave her when his work in the town was total, and she could not bear to lose another person she liked. In everyday life people go to extreme steps to be with the individual they enjoy. Some individuals commit suicide to be with a person that has handed down and others do some amazing things to be with or have the individual that they loved.
