A Rose for Emily Mood

state of mind specified– how the story makes the reader feel. The state of mind of this story is that the main character Emily’s life was an unfortunate and depressed life. It makes you sympathize with Ms. Emily that her daddy kept her protected all of her life up until he passed away. Then after he died she was not actually able to discover anybody to like her. When she lastly satisfied a male he revealed her the attention that she had actually always desired. Homer Barron was the only actual love she had actually ever seen. Although the attention he was providing her was more like a friendship than an actual relationship she actually enjoyed the attention that he showed her.

She seemed to fall in love with him and he saw the relationship in a totally different light. It seems to me that when he attempted to discuss this to Emily is when she chose that if she couldn’t have him then no one would. So in order to keep him in her life Emily picked to kill him instead of dealing with the pity of being left all alone yet once again.
