Characters in Othello: Colors and Shapes
The color and shape I selected for Othello are silver and the indifferent shape. I thought of it for a while and this indifferent shape fits othello perfectly for lots of reasons. Like Othello this is the outsider of the group because it has no real shape. The shape’s physical appearance is various from the rest, much like Othello is given that he’s a moor and has a different complexion. Towards the end of the 3rd act Othello starts to lose his stern self-confidence front and his real insecurities come out.
He reveals that he feels not confined and proper enough for the whites. Also his age is another huge insecurity that he feels when Desdemona’s loyalty is in question. This relates to the indifferent shape of the group trying to front like its a shape when truly it’s not. Silver finest describes Othello with the following attributes respectable, heroic, and romantic. These are displayed when Othello charm’s desdemona with his story and by his high ranking in the venetian army. I picked lavender, pink, and a circle to represent Desdemona’s character.
Desdemona represents perfection in the story with her looks and look. This is why the circle without any rough edges and a perfectly drawn out figure fits Desdemona perfectly. Desdemona is totally the reverse of Othello she originates from a prominent and ideal family. While Othello has matured without any silver spoon, (even thou paradoxically thats his color), he was raised into slavery and the army. These trials and catastrophes Othello overcame shaped him into the shape he is. Likewise like the inside of the circle Desdemona’s character lacks depth and appears somewhat empty.
Some character qualities Desdemona does display are affection for Othello when his life story moves her to the point of tears. She reveals empathy by stating she will do whatever her enthusiast asks of her and just can not say no to him. She likewise comes off as a romantic when she disobeys her daddy to be with her enthusiast and runs. The shapes and colors that best opt for Cassio are yellow and a triangle. Cassio is a triangle in my viewpoint due to the fact that he has a high stature which means whatever to him.
Like the stature of an equilateral triangle in mathematics and if the triangle loses one angle it ruins the whole triangle. This is sort of like how Cassio ruined once in Othello’s eyes and lost whatever. Yellow finest fits Cassios’s character which enjoys go fortunate flirt. He was optimistic throughout the whole story and was extremely people orientated, maybe even too much. this was his most significant character flaw and his downfall thanks to Iago’s evil scheming. Iago is the most wicked character in the play by far, but he may likewise be the smartest. I picked dark blue, black, and a square to represent him.
Black is the color that represents evil which Iago is for turing everyone versus each other and making wicked conniving plans behind there back. Even if he’s evil doesn’t indicate he’s not wise. Iago is very intelligent he single handedly played everybody. Like a square Iago seems things from every angle (front back and side to side) and has full vision. So dark blue which indicates smart, responsible, and self reliant relatively fits him. If I needed to select colors and a shape to represent me I would pick the same shape as Othello, beige and mint green.
Although I didn’t select the very same shape as Othello for the very same reasons. My reasoning behind my option for that shape are I don’t truly ever plan much out, I flex and simply go with the flow. Likewise this shape is various from the rest and thats how I see myself, different from the rest. My colors represent me an the way I am which is more quiet and laid back than most people. These colors also fit my character. Which I consider kind hearted and quiet even though I cant always make everybody happy I always attempt.
